DIP model: P8 to P50 outdoor 

SMD model: P2.5 to P16 outdoor 

3.Brightness is different.

The brightness of DIP is higher than SMD. 

Approximate range of DIP brightness: 6500cd-10000cd

Approximate range of SMD brightness: 5000cd-7000cd  

4.Viewing angle is different.

The viewing angle of SMD is larger than DIP series Led display.

DIP: H 110°/ V 75°

SMD: H 140°/ V 120°

5.Cost is different.

Usually the cost of DIP is higher than SMD.  

So how to choose DIP or SMD outdoor should be considered comprehensively according to the different requirements of the project.

For example:

If the sunlight is strong and the LED screen is directly exposed to the sunlight for a long time, consider the higher-brightness DIP.

If you need LED screens to achieve better viewing effects, you can consider the SMD series with larger viewing angles.

If you want to save some budget costs, you can choose SMD series.
